


Checking Clinic
Body checking is a necessary skill that is crucial for all first-year bantam players!
The transition to contact hockey can be very challenging for some players. It’s very important that players learn how to position themselves in a way to take contact from an opposing player to reduce the likelihood of an injury. It’s also important that players learn how give a proper check, so they do not hurt an opposing player or themselves!
This one and half hour checking clinic will cover the four phases of checking Angling, Stick Positioning, Body Contact and Body Checking. Our staff will place a strong emphasis on the basic checking skills…It is important the player develops confidence, respect and an awareness of a check.
